All retired persons who were members of AFSCME or would have been eligible to be members of AFSCME and the spouses of such persons who, while actively employed were employees of Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, are eligible for membership. Membership meetings are held on the second Tuesday during the months of September through June. No meetings are held in July or August. Meetings begin at 10:00 A.M. in the lower hall of District Council 48, located at the Southeast corner of N. 35th Street and W. St. Paul Avenue. Before each meeting, we serve donuts and coffee. In December and June, we have a hot luncheon with beverages, free of charge. At our meetings we try to have a guest speaker with an interesting topic to discuss. Otherwise, we have discussions about issues pertaining to our “Good & Welfare.” The meetings usually last one hour.
